They can overlap, so persistent or impairing symptoms deserve professional evaluation.

The early signs of depression may include persistent sadness, loss of interest, low energy, sleep changes, irritability, difficulty concentrating, appetite changes, social withdrawal, unexplained physical discomfort, and feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness.

Mental health affects every aspect of our lives—from how we think and feel to how we connect with others, perform at work, and care for ourselves.
